An autumn saunter through Kew Gardens shows why this urban village in the city is such an attractive place to live. Forest Park at the Overlook is a good place to relax, with lawns for sun worshippers, a playground for the kids, tables for chess players, and shaded pathways for strollers. Flowers--and even vegetable gardens--abound in back yards and front yards. There is outdoor dining, and stores lining Lefferts Boulevard and Metropolitan Avenue entice passers-by with colorful displays of fruits, vegetables and a variety of merchandise. A pottery store tucked on 83d Avenue near Lefferts not only offers lessons but also sells artworks produced in a rear room by its students.  Click here to view a slideshow of autumn in Kew Gardens
